Virgin Gorda
Virgin Gorda is a beautiful island situated only a few miles from Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. The shape of the island reminded Christopher Columbus of a reclining woman, so he named it Virgin Gorda, which means “Fat Virgin”. The island is ideal blend of extraordinary sights, easy access, good restaurants and villas and crystal clear sea along unspoiled sandy beaches. The Baths is the biggest tourist Caribbean attraction, situated on the southern end of the Virgin Gorda, where huge granite boulders create mysterious grottos that are open to the sea, showing the evidence of the island’s volcanic origins. The local people are friendly and caring, having the laid-back spirit of the Caribbean with a casual British charm.
